Also they are doing it because they got busted driving round in vans, picking up stray/unwanted animals to "care for them" and then euthanising them IN THE VANS.
Like I said... they lie. This has been a hot topic of discussion, obvs, for several weeks on VIN and that's why I was so pissed when I saw the ad; I know what it's really about and it's just one more bullshit example of PETA's reality is not anybody else's reality.
As for the rest... I have a very firm policy about certain things, and it definitely applies here: Anybody who is working at KFC beyond the age of 18 has a shitty enough life, and I don't need to do anything to add to it. PETA, of course, are assholes, and do not care.
ETA: Okay so I must edit, because I want to be as truthful as possible about this--I don't know about euthanasia in the vans, although it honestly wouldn't surprise me I don't have info to back that up. What I do know is that PETA's "shelters" have exceedingly high euthanasia rates, and I also know that PETA believes it is morally wrong to keep animals as pets. Which a) if you put the two facts together brings you to an extremely unpleasant conclusion and b) followed to its logical conclusion means that PETA's ultimate goal is for cats and dogs (not to mention cows, sheep, and pigs) to cease to exist, since they are domestic animals vastly removed from their ancestors.
